four-day weekend!
T.O. Chapter 5: Ponyboy and Johnny stay at a church on top of Jay Mountain. They cut their hair as a disguise. While they stay at the church Ponyboy recites a poem he remembered from Johnny.
"Nothing Gold Can Stay"
by Robert Frost,
by Robert Frost,
"Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief.
So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay."
They stay at the church for five days until Dally comes to pick them up. Dally takes Ponyboy and Johnny to get a proper meal before they head back. While they eat it turns out that Cherry was a spy for the Greasers.
In class we studied the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay," we find out the meaning of the poem. We also went over some of the book projects and what everyone read. With the small time left, we finish up with the AR tests using the iPads.
